July 15, 2011

Taking flight across South China Sea, I embarked my journey to Sabah, state under the wind.

1st day
Arriving around 1pm. went for lunch with my uncle who lived in Kota Kinanbalu (KK).
Took some rest in his house after tiring flight.
After dinner, went to Signal Hill and Sutera Harbour for night view.

2nd day
morning. getting ready for the journey from KK all the way to Kudat.
What's there? - Tip of Borneo
Along the way, there gong making centre and farm.

Guess how long it took to reach Tip of Borneo from KK - 4 hours with rocky road (patience challenging) but worth it for the breathtaking view.

Music Festival 2011 (16-17 July 2011) is also held here at Tip of Borneo.

3rd day
went to Gaya Street (local market) early in the morning (left)

Off we go, to Manukan Island from Sutera Harbour,KK (below)

Malacca, Nov 2010

Together with friends, went to Malacca for 3 days.
This trip came together with free accommodation as my friend house is there :)

1st day
Upon arrival, we went to Nadeje at Pahlawan mall for crepe upon friend's recommendation.
Doubt not. The crepes are delicious.

walked to the church (red building), A'famosa and the unfinished grave/tomb.

Near one of the bus stop, I found this:- map of Malacca (tourist reference)
2nd day
walk and explore town area
(In pictures: queuing up for chicken rice ball, miniature windmill, temple, mosque etc.)
3rd day
dim sum(top left) for breakfast. went to local wet market, hill climbing at Bukit Cina (bottom two) and lunch "yu jiao" (top right)

Not to forget, we treat ourselves with local food (Baba Noynya cuisine), bought some cream puff and team up with more friends for war of paint ball which result in bruise but still fun (h.h)

glass pendant

During my trip to Italy, I bought a packet of broken Murano glass because it's cheap with the thought of repairing and redecoration diy way.

As the glass (original rounded in shape) is broken into 3 pieces, I used epoxy glue to stick them back together. Then using silver wire, I wrapped and twisted the wire around the glass, making it into a pendant with some decoration.

Here my finished pendant. Beautiful, right:)

creative key chain

cute n easy to do key chain

materials: tin cap, wire, jump ring, pair of doll eyes, semi-sphere plastic capsule (can be obtained from toy machine)

equipment: plier, pencil (or round object), wire cutter, glue

Steps:

1)Using a hammer and nail, make a small hole in the middle of the semi-spherical plastic capsule (for head).

2)Substituting for pencil, here, I used a drinking straw. Roll the wire around the straw to give you spring-like wire(neck) with the length around 3cm. Cut off the wire only after leaving another 3cm of straight wire.

3) Wrap the straight-end wire to one end of tin cap (body) and secure it.

4) Using the other end of the wire, poke the wire through the hole made on the capsule from the concave part. Then make a small loop with the wire and insert the jump ring.

5)Glue a pair of eyes on the capsule.

There you have the key chain.
You can also make hand and leg using thicker wire by securing/wrapping them to the tin cap.
